Q & A : Ed Ralston

Where do you draw inspiration from?

A combination of music, other artists and the ocean.

Where have you traveled?

I’ve been to Mexico, Costa Rica, Oregon, Washington, Vegas, and up and down California more times than I can count.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Amsterdam or Africa maybe, but definitely to Goa Beach, India- where a close friend of mine passed away.

What’s your favorite type of music?

Brian Jamestown Massacre, but really any indie rock, jazz, electronic, punk, rock ‘n’ roll….

What do you like to do with your days off?

I record and play music, surf, read, hang out with my doggie, go and see live music, eat pb&j sandwhiches.

What are your career goals?

I’d like to continue to pierce and maybe someday tattoo. Also to continue to perform my music.

If you weren’t in the tattoo/piercing industry, what would you be doing?

Running some business somewhere, probably for some jerk.

What are your major pet peeves?

Bad music, bad people, lack of harmony among people.

Any recommendations for getting a first tattoo?

Make sure it has meaning to you. Take your time- it’s gonna be there forever.

Favorite food?

Mexican, cause it’s spicy!

Describe your approach to piercing.

I like to keep it soothing, calming and get the job done
